Do you ever wish getting a Christmas tree was more of an adventure?

The Pieropan Christmas Tree Farm is a 65-year-old grove of balsam fir that have been coppiced, which is to say cut in such a way that a permanent cohort of stumps produces all the trees, without needing to be replanted.

This is not your typical Christmas tree farm. It is a managed forest, and as such it is a more wild experience. The paths are muddy at times and steep at others. You might get a little lost (but not too lost). You will benefit from wearing sensible shoes or boots. You will come home with a story to tell.

You-Cut trees are a flat rate of $40 for any size and wreaths are $25, $30 and $35 in 2023. The farm is CASH OR CHECK ONLY, so please be prepared. You can come at any time, and if no one is there to take your money you can leave it in the box. Saws and twine are available.

The farm is located on Pfersick Rd. in Ashfield, MA. The road is just a mile long and has a dirt stretch in the middle where the farm is. You cannot miss the farm, it looks like the picture above. Dogs are welcome so long as they are well-behaved and you clean up after them.

Our trees are not sheared or pruned, giving them a more open branch structure. So if you are looking for a real tree, not a shrub, grown in a real forest, not a field, then this is the place for you. We have families who have been coming here for 45 years now. We look forward to becoming your holiday tradition as well.

They are:

Saturday, December 2nd at the Atlas Farm Store in South Deerfield , 10-3

Saturday, December 9th at the Northampton River Valley Market, 9:30-12:30

Saturday, December 16th at the Easthampton River Valley Market, 9:30-12:30

All three sales are first-come-first-serve while supplies last, and trees are $45. Cash or check only. Someone will be there to assist you in getting your tree on your car, and you can bring straps or rope or use our baling twine to tie it down.
